His Eminence Metropolitan of Kisamos and Selinon Mr. Amphilochios (Andronikakis) was born in Chania Crete in 1964. He completed his general studies in Chania and then became a student at the School of Theology of the University of Thessaloniki, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1987. He continued at the same School, attending a 2-year postgraduate course on Doctrinal and Symbolic Theology. In the year 1993, while serving the Greek-Orthodox community of the Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain as a Chief Clergyman at the church of St. Nicholas in Cardiff, he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Cardiff, Wales, and Great Britain, where he received his master’s degree in 1995.
He became a monk at the monastery of Panagia Odigitria in Gonia, Kolimvari, in 1990. In the same year, he was ordained a Deacon and in the year 1992 he was ordained a Priest by His Eminence Metropolitan of Lambis, Syvritos and Sfakia Mr. Irineos. That same year, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew awarded him the honorary title of Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne. Then he served in the Holy Metropolis of Lambis, Syvritos and Sfakia as a Pastor and Preacher for 4 years.
In the year 1997 he was appointed Parish Priest of the parish of Platanos, Kisamos, as well as Chancellor of the Holy Metropolis of Kisamos and Selinon, by His Eminence former Metropolitan of Kisamos and Selinon Mr. Irineos. He has taught in Secondary Education Schools in Kisamos and from 2003 until 2005 he was Dean of the Ecclesiastical School of Crete. On October 4th 2005 he was elected Metropolitan of Kisamos and Selinon, by the Holy Eparchial Synod.
